Save the date for UN Forum 2010, an exciting new UNA-UK event which will be held for the first time next year.
The UN Forum will be a large-scale civil society event with the theme ‘Britain and the UN in a new era’.
Taking place shortly after the 2010 general election, it will be an opportunity to ensure that the United Nations and respect for multilateralism remain at the heart of UK foreign policy, and consider what the new government (of whichever political stripe) can do to strengthen the UN so that it is better-equipped to tackle 21st Century challenges.
This one-day will be free of charge, and will feature:
- high-level speaker presentations
- panel debates
- films
- workshops
- stalls
- side events for students and young professionals
- opportunities for taking action on peace, development and human rights issues
- free resources to take away
Dr Hans Blix confirmed as speaker,
Zeinab Badawi to chair high level panel on how to make the UN more effective.
We hope to see you there on 12 June 2010!
